Alexis Carra – Actress

An accomplished dancer before her teens, Alexis Carra studied acting at Yale then took a break and toured the country with Ann Reinking’s production of the legendary Tony Award winning musical, Fosse, which cemented her love for musical theater. Upon graduation, she headed to New York and quickly procured roles in some of the top Broadway shows including Wicked, Sweet Charity, and Fame on 42nd St. After closing the Broadway show, The Pirate Queen Alexis decided to move to Los Angeles and since then, she has worked continuously.

Alexis has guest starred on a number of TV series including: Grey’s Anatomy, Castle, Anger Management, The Mentalist and Bones. More recently, the talented actress was a series regular on ABC’s hit comedy series, Mixology and also starred in Recovery Road and NCIS: Los Angeles.

Lisa Haisha met Alexis through the philanthropic women’s goal group The New Hollywood, where Alexis is the VP of Content Creation. In this Legacy Series interview, they speak about Alexis’ challenging younger years, fearlessness in auditioning for huge roles (which she booked) and what qualities it takes to be a successful human being.
