Whispers From Children’s Hearts Foundation is a 501(c)(3) global nonprofit children’s organization working to foster compassion, cross-cultural understanding and financial support to children-in-need locally and abroad.

In 2005, Lisa Haisha boarded planes, rode buses, and crossed borders to do something radical: sit with children in orphanages, villages, and city slums across 15 countries—and ask them three soul-stirring questions.

What followed were moments of magic, heartbreak, and raw truth. With the help of acclaimed illustrator Tim Huhn and producer Lee Aronsohn, Whispers from Children’s Hearts was born—not as a publishing campaign, but as a love letter to the voices too often overlooked.

“I simply give you their hearts,” Lisa wrote. “For they were the heart of my journeys around the globe.”

The book, quietly released, began to ripple through schools, therapy circles, Hollywood green rooms, and spiritual communities. Educators, counselors, and parents shared it like a secret worth keeping—and spreading. Lisa was soon invited to speak across the U.S. and internationally about what she learned: that children everywhere want the same things—to feel seen, heard, and safe.

Whispers from Children’s Hearts remains as timely today as it was then—a poignant reminder that truth isn’t complicated when spoken from the mouth of a child.

Our Story

Some trips change your heart. Others change your mission.

For years, Lisa Haisha traveled the world, not to escape—but to connect. Her most meaningful journeys were always the ones that led her to children in developing countries—those living in orphanages, safe houses, or the shadows of war and poverty. She listened to them. Laughed with them. Cried with them. And she carried their stories home.

When Lisa became engaged to television producer Lee Aronsohn, she didn’t want to just share her life with him—she wanted to share her purpose. Before planning a wedding, she planned a trip.

Together, they traveled to Cambodia, where Lisa introduced Lee to a safe house protecting abandoned and abused children.

It was Lee’s first experience inside a world like this. They filmed their time there—quiet moments, heartbreaks, glimmers of joy—and when they returned home and watched the footage, something clicked: This can’t stay just a memory. It has to become a movement.

And so, the Whispers From Children’s Hearts Foundation was born—a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to uplifting children worldwide by supporting grassroots charities, amplifying unheard voices, and fostering cross-cultural compassion through storytelling and service.

Today, WFCH continues to build bridges—between strangers, cultures, and causes—anchored in the belief that love, peace, and presence can ripple across the globe when we choose to listen.

International Orphanage Trips

Working with other worthwhile nonprofit organizations worldwide, we offer one-week international programs providing participants with a unique volunteer vacation experience. WFCH volunteers will spend seven days at a predetermined location-in-need being of service, providing crucial life supplies, love, laughter and gifts to the kids in selected orphanages.

Visits To Local Children’s Hospitals

So popular and fun that we made a music video about it, WFCH offers local trips to hospitals to help cheer up children with life threatening diseases and debilitating illnesses. We dress up in SoulBlazing Superhero Capes of Courage and play games, do magic tricks and perform for the kids. We aim to brighten their day and then give them gifts, including their own fleece superhero-hooded capes.

Legacy Charity Gala Volunteer

Always looking for ways to give back, we hold a yearly event in November in the Los Angeles area where we honor nonprofit organizations that are doing good work for children by donating money to them. It’s the star-studded Legacy Charity Gala and all throughout the year our volunteers work hard to help raise the money to donate to the nonprofits and put on a truly awe-inspiring event.

Hosted by Lisa Haisha, the Whispers From Children’s Hearts Foundation, the Legacy Charity Gala brought together a radiant constellation of Legacy Leaders, thought provokers, wisdom keepers, and change-makers for an unforgettable evening of giving and inspiration.

Set against the elegant backdrop of the Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills, the gala was more than a charity event—it was a celebration of compassion in action. Guests gathered to raise funds, share stories, and honor those making a lasting difference in the lives of children around the world.
